Housed within a fully renovated and carefully preserved historic building, Aktaiou Wine Cave Hotel is conceived as a boutique hospitality project that draws inspiration from the elegance and grandeur of a bygone era, reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural sensibility. The project balances heritage preservation with refined design, creating an immersive environment rooted in atmosphere, materiality, and spatial richness.
The hotel is organized into a series of suites, each designed as an autonomous living unit comprising a separate living room, bedroom, and bathroom. This residential typology enhances comfort and privacy while allowing the architectural qualities of the building to unfold gradually through a sequence of spaces. Generous ceiling heights play a defining role in the experience, with ornate gypsum decorations forming one of the project’s most distinctive features. These ceilings act as a visual anchor, reinforcing a sense of historical continuity and architectural depth.
