Housed within a fully renovated and carefully preserved historic building, Aktaiou Wine Cave Hotel is conceived as a boutique hospitality project that draws inspiration from the elegance and grandeur of a bygone era, reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural sensibility. The project balances heritage preservation with refined design, creating an immersive environment rooted in atmosphere, materiality, and spatial richness.
The hotel unfolds as a series of autonomous suites, each functioning as an independent living unit. Every suite includes a separate living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Through this residential typology, the design enhances both comfort and privacy. At the same time, it allows the architectural qualities of the building to unfold gradually through a carefully sequenced series of spaces. Furthermore, generous ceiling heights define the spatial experience. Ornate gypsum ceiling decorations, preserved as key architectural features, give the interiors their distinctive character. As a result, these ceilings act as a visual anchor, reinforcing a sense of historical continuity and architectural depth.
