Located on Katouni Street, one of the most vibrant areas of Thessaloniki, Looén Bar – Restaurant is designed as a contemporary all-day destination. The project combines classical architectural elements with modern European design, creating a dynamic and inviting urban space.
The bar and restaurant is housed in a three-storey listed building. The design respects the historic character of the structure while introducing a refined and contemporary identity suited to modern city life.
Layout & Experience
The layout is designed to support different uses throughout the day. In the morning, the space operates as a social hub for coffee and brunch. In the evening, it transforms into a lively bar and restaurant with cocktails and wine. This flexibility is reflected in the interior design, where different zones are clearly defined but remain visually connected.
The food concept follows the same idea. The menu combines modern bar food with Asian influences and sharing plates, encouraging social interaction and a relaxed dining experience.

Interior design focuses on creating a layered and immersive atmosphere. Each area has its own identity, while maintaining a cohesive overall design. Custom lighting fixtures play a key role and act as focal points within the space.

Lighting works together with music to shape the overall experience. It creates a warm and atmospheric environment that evolves from day to night.

Material selection enhances both comfort and character. Soft fabrics are used in seating areas, while patterned tiles and exposed brick walls add texture and warmth. These elements balance the historic shell with a contemporary design approach.

Looén Bar – Restaurant is a contemporary hospitality project in Thessaloniki that brings together architecture, design, and gastronomy. The result is a vibrant and immersive space that reflects the city’s evolving urban culture.
