Originally built to house the Gavriiloglou Tobacco Company, the six-storey building was a symbol of growth and industrial strength during the interwar period. Its clean geometry, vertical lines, and minimal decorative elements make it a notable example of early modern architecture in Thessaloniki.

Although the building stopped operating as a tobacco warehouse in 1960, it remained an important part of the city’s architectural identity, preserving its character while waiting for a new purpose.
